The Young Sports Leader of the Year

Assessit and the Norwegian Sports Federation conduct the annual selection of the Young Sports Leader of the Year. The selection aims to promote youth leadership and is a significant societal mission where values such as community, learning, volunteering, solidarity, health, and activity take center stage.

Through the selection process, Assessit identifies participants based on specified criteria, similar to a standard recruitment process. When we initiated the Young Sports Leader of the Year project, it was crucial for us to find a platform and an arena to carry out such a process.

We desired an automated process and a data-driven tool for screening, while also valuing the ability to communicate with participants throughout. The process was designed to foster engagement among young leaders, providing them with a sense of involvement in something exciting, ensuring they gained value from the time invested, regardless of whether they won the award or not.

Our choice fell on using Mojob.

With Mojob, we could tailor the process for the Young Sports Leader of the Year and create an attractive landing page for the project where participants could sign up for the selection.

By using Mojob, participants could navigate through the process step by step without requiring significant time from Assessit. The initial part of the process was created using user-friendly automation. However, participants could still reach out to us via chat if they desired contact, and we maintained full control over their progress.

We incorporated tasks and questions along the way that participants had to respond to and also requested them to submit videos about themselves.

In this way, participants committed to the process in a significantly different manner without it demanding excessive time or resources. By genuinely reflecting on their own competence and leadership, they progressed through the steps we had designed.

For Assessit, this approach saved considerable time in conducting the process through automation.

In return, participants received videos and webinars from us, along with numerous positive feedback points. Towards the end of the process, Assessit conducted interviews with participants who scored highest based on the criteria we established as a starting point and aligned best with the values we uphold.

Feedback from all participants indicated that the process was enjoyable, engaging, and effective. For many, submitting a self-made video was a new experience, but it also prompted participants to genuinely consider their leadership goals.

Assessit is highly satisfied with the choice of Mojob and intends to continue using it for future selections of the Young Sports Leader of the Year.

This approach allows us to create "talent pools" of young leaders passionate about sports and volunteering, who will later assume leadership positions in Norwegian society and business.
